An artist and yogi at heart who’s professional career fueled her wanderlust around the world. Born and raised in South Korea, Min worked as an art director and lived in Australia, Singapore, New York, California and back to NY where she’s settled in Brooklyn. She started yoga about 13 years ago in Singapore purely as a form of physical exercise but in NYC she learned the real purpose of yoga lives in the mind — the body is just a vehicle to get you there.
She completed 200 hours of teacher training and taught at Yoga to the People Manhattan and Brooklyn for two years, moved LA, continued teaching at Bryan Kest Power Yoga Studio and attended the Yoga Therapy RX Program at Loyola Marymount University in California learning how to heal the body and prevent injuries caused by practicing yoga the wrong way. She also has participated in several workshops that include Silent Retreats with Native American Sweat Lodge by Menla Mediation Center, OSHO Active Meditation, Breath of Change with Yee-Ching for Riya Breath Work & Meditation in NY.
Min truly believes applying Yoga to daily life helps you to be mindful, make better decisions and most importantly lets you live life to its potential. Her classes focus heavily on breathing to connect mind and body as one, she guides practitioners to experience being present and re-learn how to feel in a most natural way. Modern society is filled with lots of distractions, mental stress and lifestyle imbalance we can easily misplace our sense of “being”.
Her goal is to guide you to find that “calm, quiet space” inside you were born with. She treats the mind as another muscle in your body, nourish it with goodness and it will grow stronger (just like muscles) to regain the space you need to live well.
Write To Min At Yoga is for all levels who want to get the fundamentals down so you can care for yourself and practice good habits beyond the security of a yoga studio into your mindfulness of everyday.
Min practices what she preaches because yoga saved her life – this simple truth is the belief which drives her passion to pass on what is now the glue in her busy life as an Artist, Wife, Mom & Yogi.
